About Me

I moved to Chicago in 2022 and began at Fuentes after 4 years of teaching high school band and choir in central Illinois. I completed my Master of Music Education degree at Illinois State University just before my first year at Fuentes. I strongly believe that music education is essential to each child’s social and emotional development, as well as their experience in school. Students will learn to create, perform, respond, and connect to music at Fuentes. These are skills that will allow them to engage with and appreciate the music in their lives long after their time with us.

Me mudé a Chicago en 2022 y comencé en Fuentes después de 4 años de enseñar banda y coro en una escuela secundaria en el centro de Illinois. Completé mi Maestría en Educación Musical en la Universidad Estatal de Illinois justo antes de mi primer año en Fuentes. Creo firmemente que la educación musical es esencial para el desarrollo social y emocional de cada niño, así como para su experiencia en la escuela. Los estudiantes aprenderán a crear, interpretar, responder y conectarse con la música en Fuentes. Estas son habilidades que les permitirán involucrarse y apreciar la música en sus vidas mucho después de su tiempo con nosotros.
