I’m excited to embark on my 13th year as an educator with Acero. This year marks my 4th year as a paraprofessional at Carlos Fuentes! In my role, I support both teachers and students across various classrooms throughout the day. My job is to help my students be more independent each day.
A bit about me: I grew up in a charming, mountainous town in central Idaho where my summers were filled with horseback riding, biking and swimming in the lake, and my winters with skiing and snow days. I’ve been happily married for 13 years and am a proud mom to a 6th grader and a 3rd grader. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Radio, TV, and Digital Media Production from the University of Idaho and a Master of Arts in Teaching from George Fox University. I am currently enrolled at Dominican University seeking my Masters in Library and Information Sciences.
Although some might label me as a “no-nonsense teacher,” I am full of fun & plenty of non-sense and enjoy a good laugh! My goal is to create an environment where students feel comfortable being themselves, feel free to ask hard questions and be who they are. Estoy emocionada de comenzar mi decimotercer año como educadora en Acero. ¡Este año cumplo cuatro años como paraprofesional en Carlos Fuentes! En mi puesto, apoyo tanto a profesores como a alumnos en varias aulas a lo largo del día. Mi trabajo es ayudar a mis alumnos a ser más independientes cada día.
Un poco sobre mí: Crecí en un encantador pueblo montañoso del centro de Idaho, donde mis veranos estaban llenos de paseos a caballo, ciclismo y natación en el lago, y mis inviernos de esquí y días de nieve. Llevo 13 años felizmente casada y soy la orgullosa madre de dos alumnos de sexto y tercer grado. Tengo una licenciatura en Producción de Radio, Televisión y Medios Digitales de la Universidad de Idaho y una maestría en Artes en Docencia de la Universidad George Fox. Actualmente estoy matriculada en la Universidad Dominicana para obtener mi maestría en Bibliotecología y Ciencias de la Información.
Aunque algunos me consideren una "profesora sensata", ¡soy divertida y me encanta reírme! Mi objetivo es crear un ambiente donde los estudiantes se sientan cómodos siendo ellos mismos, con la libertad de hacer preguntas difíciles y ser quienes son. ¡Por otro gran año de aprendizaje y crecimiento juntos! ¡Vamos, Águilas!
