My name is Dana Siegel. This will be my fifth year with ACERO but my first year at Carlos Fuentes. I am happy to be a part of this fantastic collaborative team! I have recently become yoga and wellness certified. I look forward to bring mindfulness into my classroom community. I focus on each child’s individual educational needs using various teaching strategies that enable students to achieve their highest potential. I believe in giving students choices that provide a sense of ownership as they work and learn. I take an energetic approach with my students and find rewards in observing them grow and become enthusiastic as they see progress and gain confidence.
Initially I led a Northbrook Park District kindergarten enrichment class, actually a hands-on extended day learning program. With a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, I later became a special education teaching assistant in a life skills classroom where I worked individually with students. I have also taught second and third grades at two Chicago schools. Looking forward to an amazing school year!
