I am the 4th and 5th grade Learning Specialist, and this is my first year teaching at Fuentes! My love for learning began during my first week in kindergarten, when I angrily stormed into my mom’s room and demanded to know why she did not take me to school on Saturday. Before going into teaching, I studied Spanish at Oberlin College, served as an AmerICorps member for City Year Boston and Chicago, got my masters in journalism from Northwestern University and worked in non-profit marketing for two years. I earned my masters in Special Education through DePaul University and the AUSL Chicago Teacher Residency program in 2017. My favorite part of teaching is encouraging students to take risks and helping them to understand that mistakes are OK as long as we learn from them.
